Abstract
ulmonary carcinosarcoma is an exceedingly uncommon malignant tumor with less than 100 cases reported to date. Carcinosarcoma of the lung, histologically, consists of intermingling elements of carcinoma (usually squamous cell type) and sarcoma
(usually
spildle
cell type). We experienced a pulmonary carcinosarcoma case of 76-year-old man smoker
with hypertrophic osteoarthropathy. The tumor, 12¡¿8¡¿8cm sized, was located in the lower
lobe of the left lung without endobronchial invasion, Lightmicroscopically, the tumor is
composed of an area of tubular structure of adenocarcinoma and spindle cells of sarcoma. In
immunohistochemical stain, the tumor consists of tubular structure that reveal positive for
cytokeratin and the spindle cells for vimentin.
So we report this case of carcinosarcoma of the lung with a literature review.
